been kept in the garage, reluctantly selling due to redundancy. It is a UK spec car, so the insurance is cheaper and parts are no problem. Very quick as it is the higher power 1839cc 130 bhp model, but still has quite good petrol consumption. The bodywork looks great with only the odd stone chip and supermarket trolley ding that you would expect on a car this age, tiniest amount of rust on wheel arches but you have to bend down to see it properly, please check pictures for details. The hood and rear window are in good condition with no leaks. Interior is in black cloth and is in good condition, but with a little wear on the edge of the driver`s seat (not too bad, not exposing the seat foam). As far as I can tell the engine and gearbox are in good order with no leaks of oil or water visible, and the clutch feels good with a very light action (I think that it may have been changed by a previous owner). Tyres have plenty of tread. Two keys. AM/FM Radio CD Player. Pop up headlights. Original alloy wheels (replacement alloys may invalidate insurance). It has just passed the MOT test which expires in April 2013, and it is taxed until end of May 2012. It is the uk model and is quite basic (one reason I like it as there`s less to go wrong) so don`t expect electric windows or a.b.s. I fitted a new clutch shortly after buying it last year and I think it drives well and am still using it daily.The car is custom painted in metalflake black, which certainly catches the eye! In cloudy weather it just looks like normal black but in sunlight/streetlights it shows up as a sort of glittery effect. one. To help from my experience - If you are looking for an okay MK1 then you`ll be spending about £1200 (upwards for better ones), a MKII 1998 like this then £1500 upwards. Electric windows on all I saw were not working and the imported with ac effected performance.This is a UK car with leather interior - not ripped. Slight fading of colour in places (where they normally rip). All leather treated recently to protect. I purchased the car from 1 lady owner who owned it from new. Obviously with full service history. I took to my mechanic for a major service and he confirmed to be well looked after mechanically, for example it still has the protection pans to transmission and gear oil sumps (which was changed) and the drainhole at the rear of the passenger side was clear (if not kept clear rust occures) Having come with full service history it has ALL MOTs from new (to varyfy mileage). Serviced and MOTd every August until I bought it I have now MOTd it and Serviced last month. Fully serviced to 86,000 miles with timing belt due at 110,000 miles I have bought both drive belts and timing belt ready for that service which I will include in the sale. All in all, in good condition, no major rust - just plenty of general wear - not a show winner tho` (but not priced as such)Comes with the rear luggage rack. As the car has had a full respray, it now has only one bad point which is the minor scuffing to the rear passenger side wheel (pictured). It`s pictured with a gloss black heated hardtop. This comes with a felt lined and ventilated storage bag. The soft top is folded down underneath the hardtop but does have a split in the rear screen which will need attending to if you want it to be waterproof. So that`s it, everything i can think of is listed above. The car really is fantastic. It starts every day on the button, regardless of the weather. The car recieves admiring looks and comments wherever i go and looks stunning on the move. It pulls well, sounds great and handles like nothing i`ve ever driven. My reason for sale is now for two reasons. Firstly because i`m over 6 foot tall and CANNOT get the seat to a comfortable position which is essential for the mileage i do. Secondly, i decided to keep the car and turbo it which i now simply cannot be bothered to do and as such the pile of turbo parts ive built up are now also for sale seperately. Economy-wise, i average around 30 - 35mpg which is pleasing for such a fun car! of my cars locally and will use them myself so that the description is accurate and all customers are satisfied with the accurate and detailed description that I give and the purchase they have made, as my feedback clearly shows. | This listing is for my personal | MAZDA MX5 mk1 | M.O.T. ‘til 17th of July | TAX ‘til end of September | Mileage 137k | MASSIVE service history – a folder full!! | I have driven this Vehicle over some considerable distance in the time I have owned it and spent a small fortune on it including £1000 of paint in a one off red colour. The Vehicle starts as it should and pulls strongly through all 5 manual gears which engage as they should and stops well having discs all round. The exhaust note is in my opinion in keeping with the car through the full stainless system. Everything in the cabin works as it should, the roof is as new and manual and has no leaks or tears, rear window is plastic and I fold it down correctly. The body work is in very good condition with a little bit of rust here and there that has come through the paint so viewing is recommended and the interior could do with a quick vacuum and wipe down but in general as you can see from the pictures this vehicle represents good value for money. That tied with the fact it is a well-known and reliable make - makes a good all-rounder. | I will be very very sad to see it go and will not be letting it go for peanuts, it’s not a £600 scabby mx. | I have a set of 4 spare wheels with new tyres available separate that will fit this and are Mazda alloys | The History, V5 and test cert are present and available for inspection, tax disc in the window and I will give a full receipt. as I have tried to convince my wife it will be a good idea to keep the car, I am constantly reminded that we have a baby on the way and have absolutely no chance of fitting in a baby seat and a pram. So unfortunately it has to go! This is the sort after S-VT model with more horsepower (146bhp) than the standard 1.8, six speed and 16" alloys. have known this car from brand new. A good friend of mine bought it new on 31/1/01 - I gave him a lift to pick it up! It`s quite a rare car because it`s a Mark 2.5 with the improved interior, dashboard and instruments which weren`t officially launched by Mazda until later in that year - this was one of the first `new shape` cars they brought to the UK.My friend bought it as a sunny weekend car, owning it from 2001 to 2009. In that time he did a mere 23,000 miles. When finally he decided to sell it I had to buy it given the pampered life it had led. The paint you see is the paint it left the factory with! This does mean you will find the odd stone chip and minor minor blemish if you look hard enough. There is also the very first signs of corrosion starting on 1 of the rear wheel arches. It`s very very minor, and I`ve left it on purpose so that the new owner can see it and the car can still claim that it`s never had any bodywork from new.Drives as good as it looks - interior spot on with a couple of minor, tasteful improvements - Momo gearknob fitted from new (original in the glovebox) and the Mazda approved brushed aluminium air vent surrounds and dashboard insert that just help to lift the rather `black` dashboard and make it less `gloomy`. This is my first MX5 and 7 years later, I`ve decided to treat myself to a brand new one.So a bit about the car: the reg doc shows 4 previous owners, however the guy who sold it to me was a trader so it probably only had 3 previous owners (assuming none of them were traders). The car had 56000 on the clock 7 years ago and is now showing 74000. This is genuine mileage so pretty good for an N Reg. As is obvious, the car`s averaged just over 2500 miles a year under my ownership.I have all the MOT certificates and most of the service receipts since 2007. Unfortunately I do not have the full history prior to this and took it a bit on trust that the car was OK when I bought it. I can happily report no major repairs needed since. Apart from a new exhaust and the usual consumable items that need changing from time to time, the car has been a dream to own and run - incredibly reliable.The general condition is good for a 17 year old car, but not exceptional. Front numberplate bracket needs replacing, there are some bodywork spots that need looking at and the interior leather seats are quite worn. The rear plastic window is also starting to crack and needs repair. Other than that the car, including tyres, is in good condition.Allowing for some of the stuff a new owner will want to fix up, the car`s age, mileage and condition and to keep things very simple and as fair as possible, I have priced the car to sell at £1595. When we brought the car the guy we brought it off said that its cambelt had recently been changed ( although no receipt as he did this himself) there is no rust underneath i have had this all taken care of so that the underneath of the car is as good as the top. genuine reason for selling. pop up lights fully working new windscreen so no chips 10 cd changer/ player being sold with the car full grey car cover that shields from rain silver wing mirrors thrown in if you fancy adding some bling MOT UNTIL FEB 2013 with no advisories. no leaks 2 keys starts first time non import NOT GOOD POINTS the back window does unfortunately have a crack in it and will need replacing but i have reflected this in the price. you can get the plastic to re do on here ( listingItem number: 260792535676) but i just dont have the time to do it myself i work full time now. there is some minor cosmetic areas ie: top of windscreen needs a little touch up. a bubble or 2 but please remeber the age of this car. and this car as you can see in the photo`s looks great i do recommend seeing the car and i really dont think you would be dissapointed. eunos roadster, imported in 2004, as opposed to a uk mx5, hence the fact it is low mileage and completely rust free!. it has done 118,000 kilometres, which is around 74,000 miles, so plenty of life in it yet. we have had it for a couple of years and in that time it hasn`t missed a beat. until recently it was used every day, through rain and snow and it has been utterly reliable. the only work it has needed has been the rear brake calipers overhauled, and a new exhaust system. it went through the last mot 4500 miles ago with no advisories whatsoever, this runs out on may 21st, so the car will be sold with a new mot. the car needs nothing mechanically, and i wouldn`t hesitate to drive it anywhere. tyres are good with lots of tread, brakes are really sharp, gearbox is strong and shifts as it should...a typical bomb proof jap car! cosmetically though, it is a little challenged!, the paint is a few different shades of red, and it suffers from the usual fading that seems to affect this colour more than any other. that said, it still cleans up quite nicely...see pics! the roof is pretty good, with only one really small tear below the back window which has a little piece of black tape on it to keep the rain out!. the interior is clean and tidy, apart from the usual wear to the drivers seat (see pic), and it has a cd player fitted. it is also fitted with an insurance approved alarm (with certificate) the car will also have a new drivers side electric window cable fitted before being sold, as it has just broken (a common mx5 problem apparently). all in all, a great little automatic sports car, ready for summer, for very little money!
