GCS Cars (formerly Surecars) was established in 1990 and sold local main dealer part exchanges.
In 1994 I decided to specialise in Volkswagen Golf Gti’s and during this point changed my name to German Car Specialists (GCS). By about 1997 it was getting extremely hard to purchase genuine MK2 Golf’s and the MK3 never really had the same following.
During 1998 I had to change tactics again and decided to specialise in anything that was a little different. I was one of the first car dealers to sell on the autotrader internet site at this point.
During 2004 I was one of the first car dealers selling on ebay. If you would like to find me on ebay and view my feedback profile then search for my user id; gcs100 on www.ebay.co.uk. During this year I also become a limited company.
During 2007 I started to sell a few motorbikes alongside the cars.
The majority of stock comes direct from Lookers, CD Bramell, Pendragon and Inchcape, these are all well known main dealers.
I do not stock many vehicles and therefore only purchase top quality cars, I cannot afford to have 'problem' cars sitting around for long periods of time. I do not buy cars that have had a lot of owners, have a sketchy history or that have had major paintwork or accident damage.
I purchase every car as if I were buying it for myself and turn down a lot more than I actually buy. I would rather have empty spaces on the forecourt than poor quality cars.
All vehicles are HPI clear and I can give a printout to show this.
I do not believe in ‘pressure selling’ and will leave you alone with the car to make your own decision.
